Est. Amsterdam · MMXXVI Chapter I

The company
you keep.

A private circle

Just & Friends is a quiet society for considered people — a place to spend your evenings, your Sundays, and your seven-day windows in the company of those who notice the same details you do.

No. 01 — Manifesto

The opposite of loneliness is not a crowd. It is the right three people, on a Tuesday, with the wine still on the table.

Friendship, in adulthood, has become unreasonably difficult. Calendars defend themselves. Apps shout. The good restaurants are full of strangers looking at their phones.

Just & Friends is built on a small, old idea: that a careful guest list and a considered evening can produce something that the modern city has nearly forgotten — a friendship that begins at thirty-five and lasts.

We curate gatherings the way an editor curates a magazine. You choose what speaks to you. We assemble the room.

No. 02 — The Three Three lengths of a good life

An Activity, an Experience,
or a Journey.

i.

Activity

2 — 4 hours

The civilised middle of an evening. A potter's wheel after work, a sommelier's table on a Wednesday, a private hour at the Rijks after the doors have closed.

  • Pottery atelier — Jordaan
  • Natural wine, sommelier-led
  • Rijksmuseum after-hours
  • Botanical perfumery
  • Sunrise sculling on the Amstel
  • Omakase counter, six seats
  • Cheese & cordial pairing
  • Cinema privé at Eye
  • Stargazing at Westerpark
  • Boxing & breakfast
  • Antique map hunt — Spui
  • Coffee cupping
ii.

Experience

A full day — dawn to digestif

A day given over entirely. A helicopter, a hot kitchen, a horse, a chef. Things that cannot be done in a lunch hour and shouldn't be.

  • Truffle hunt — Zeeland (heli transfer)
  • One-Michelin kitchen day, Aalsmeer
  • Tulip-field balloon (April)
  • Yacht day on the IJmeer
  • Saunas of Friesland — soaking day
  • Vintage Porsche tour, Veluwe
  • Equestrian day, Het Gooi
  • Falconry & forest foraging
  • Architecture day, Rotterdam
  • Master class with a Dutch brewer
  • Atelier day with a couture milliner
  • Antwerp diamond cutter, by appointment
iii.

No. 03 — The Method How it works

An old idea,
quietly assembled.

01

You are introduced

Membership is by referral. A current member writes a short note; you take a brief call with us. Without a referral, you may join the waitlist for the next intake.

02

You browse the journal

Each week we publish a small editorial calendar — activities, experiences, journeys. A handful, not a hundred. We don't believe in infinite scroll.

03

You express interest

Tap once. Other members see only your shape — 34 F, founder, food & drink — never your name. You see theirs in the same anonymous hand.

04

The room assembles

When the chemistry is right, an offer to join is sent. The first to confirm and pay are seated. Tickets are non-transferable; the guest list is not negotiable.

No. 04 — Chapters

Founding chapter:
Amsterdam.

We begin in a city that already understands restraint. From here we move outward — one chapter, one careful guest list at a time.

No. 05 — This Season Open the journal →

A few of the upcoming.

No. 06 — The Code House rules

Four small agreements.

Membership rests on these. We rarely have to mention them.

i.

Discretion

Names stay in the room. Photographs ask first. The most interesting things people tell each other are the ones that are not repeated afterwards.

ii.

Curiosity

The best guests come with questions, not credentials. Talk to the person on your left. Then the one on your right. Then the chef.

iii.

Reciprocity

If you take a seat, you arrive. If you cannot, you tell us early so another member can. This single habit is most of what makes the rooms work.

iv.

Time

We hold one another's evenings carefully. We start when we say we will. We end before anyone wants to leave.
